Super Safe All New Ford Ranger Makes Motoring History With 5 Euro NCAP Stars

You cant help but be impressed with the way car manufacturers have responded to needs for increased safety and here is just another example of that, but in all honesty, a mighty impressive one.

Later this year, Ford’s new Ranger will be in the showrooms, but before it gets there, all the guys in the white coats have to crawl all over it and it has to go through the most stringent of tests by Euro NCAP to see if it’s a safe vehicle.

Well the Ranger has just done that and it hasn’t just passed the tests, its simply blown everything else away, becoming the first pick-up truck ever to achieve a maximum 5 star rating and rate as one of the safest vehicles Euro NCAP have ever tested, irrespective of vehicle type.

Not only did the Ranger score 89% overall, stunningly, the new Ford Ranger also scored the highest score for pedestrian safety that Euro NCAP has ever recorded for any type of vehicle at 81%.

The tests suggest that if the worst were to happen and you were involved in an accident in the new Ford Ranger, you are going to be in one of the highest rated vehicles ever assessed by Euro NCAP and the Ranger is going to provide you with amazing levels of protection for everyone in the vehicle, as well as pedestrians.

Pick-up trucks used to be solely the preserve of the small builder or tradesman, but in the last 10 years or so they have become more car like and the double cab versions have become a lifestyle vehicle as well, with specifications in some cases that would rival many executive cars.

Cosmetically, it didn’t much matter what they looked in the past, but many of today’s pick-up trucks are pretty good looking things and I am pleased to tell you that the new Ford Ranger is not only up there as far as safety is concerned, but in the looks category it also rings all the bells, so if a pick-up truck is what you need, take my advice and wait until the new Ford Ranger arrives at your local Ford showroom and maybe, it might even be an idea to talk to your local Ford dealer as soon as you can as even old Ranger was popular and often in short supply and this new Ranger looks a stunner both in the flesh and on paper.
